Until 2014, I had never heard of BGASC, but boy am I glad I did! I had seen BGASC ads all over the Internet, with increasing volume and decided to visit their website. Yes Virginia, Internet advertising does work!
BGASC stands for Buy Gold and Silver Coins. They have a lot more than coins on their very professional eCommerce enabled website. BGASC carries a full line of gold and silver bullion products, 40% silver and 90% silver US coins, certified cents, mint sets, commemorative coins, and very unique Hobo Nickels and other carved coins. They also have a large selection of supplies.
The website is very easy to navigate. Items related to products you are looking at are included at the bottom of the page. The description of the products is clear and concise. The shopping cart is straightforward and they will lock in prices for about 10 minutes. Because of the rapidly changing nature of precious metals prices, after the 10 minutes expires, BGASC will refresh the price of the product in your cart to reflect the current sales price. You can pay by check, credit card or bank wire. Doing a quick check, credit card prices seem to be about 4% higher than check or bank wire prices, as is typical in the industry.
As far as price goes, BGASC seems in the ball park. Premiums on gold seem to run between 4% – 5%. Lower priced products have a higher premium and higher end products like 10 oz gold bars have premiums in the 1.5% – 2% range. Silver premiums are much higher: in the 6% – 25% range. However, they are in the ballpark compared to other dealers like Apmex, Texas Metals and Provident.
Besides a great buying experience, I find the real value from BGASC is in the shipping. Shipping on orders over $250 is free and most products are shipped the next business day. I had a great experience with them and would highly recommend BGASC.

Prices were competitive. Website is easy to navigate. Shipping was free and very fast. On the downside, they included 3 culls and one JFK half in my order of 200 Walking Liberty Halves. They were sold in “Circulated” condition. But BGASC more than made up for it by including numerous 1917 – 1920 Walkers, including a GOOD+ 1917-S Obverse half!
